This painting, done from life in the Early Morning Group and in my studio, shows a more skillful and naturalistic style of painting than the other subway paintings on this spread. This is because, for several years, I had been painting from life everyday. In addition, three students posed for this painting, where as the other subway paintings were done from sketches.
