The image of this man just sitting there waiting for long periods of time drew my attention. The vendor's despair and feeling of hopelessness together with the store's closing out sign reflected our hard times. I thought it significant that except for a spot of sun on his arm and leg, he is practically fading into the shade. The texture and details add to the excitement of this painting which I could not have done without the help of the camera.
